born in NM, raised in Calif, toured the world and US during 20 years in the Navy, settled in Idaho. In all the places I've lived I have never enjoyed just sitting outside like I do in Golden Valley. Always a fresh breeze (or mabey a wind) and more wild life than I've ever seen. First time ever that I walk every evening! I think I see my tracks in every wash in a five mile radius...........I love this place (so far), Chuck

Golden Valley definitely has its attractions, but I sure would hate to drive that hill every day to and from work.

I'm just trying to get my bearings. Is Golden Valley near Kingman?

Why, does your car have pedals?

Indeed it is. It's a geographically huge expanse of desert between Kingman and Bullhead, just minutes away from each. Mostly dirt roads, nothing in the way of any sort of downtown or shopping district. True country living, but very accessible.

It should, it's small enough. But really, I hate going up that hill, and I hate coming down it.

Sometimes I go around and come in on Rt 66 to eliminate the pass. Gotta say tho, ' I do love coming down off 3737 (altitude).'
I never had to run my AC 'till mid July (when the clouds came in).I put one of those neat, German swamp coolers (from H Depot) into the garage and created shade for the afternoon side of the house and bubble foil on the afternoon windows and everything worked well , even at 108 F. June bill was $90.
Water a little high at $66 because I use the swamp cooler pump anti-lime run off to two hoses and water trees at a 12 hour trickle each, 24/7 (13 trees, 3 berry vines and 9 grapes). Also have 4 horse troughs to keep up with, so there's my water bill. But, the water keeps the house cool (and a little humid). Chuck
