I will be moving and working in Ft Mohave but prefer to live in the Kingman area and am looking for 20-40 acres as I have have horses. I prefer bare land and could build my own home....unless I could find a small home already set up. I don't want a big house as 900 sf would suffice.

Is 20-40 acres available in this area..and if so at what price?

Is drilling for water an issue?

Thanks folks!

Water table generally between 400-700 feet in a lot of areas outside of Kingman. Drilling is deeper around Kingman than many other areas leaving some to just haul water.

400-700...not too bad...as that is about the same as where I currently live in CO. Thanks.

I would think you would find something to suite you here in Kingman or Golden valley. Also keep a eye on the Kingman daily Miner newspaper for stuff to pop up.

Thank you RB. I think GV would even be a tad closer to Ft Mohave.

Water is the reason there isn't a lot of horse property in that area.

TY Steve, yes I read here that a lot of folks pay to have water hauled in. (or do they haul it themselves from close locations?)

For folks in that area that do have wells are they limited to how much they can use? Here in CO we have wells designated as "domestic" and "agriculture" and we can only use so much if it's titled a domestic well.

Do not be led to far astray that Golden Valley has no water and you have to haul it in. Valley Pioneer water company covers quite a bit out there.

Give them a call for any questions

Horses need a lot of water. That is why my friends from Indiana sold their farm and bought in Prescott after searching all over the state for land.

Horse properties and ranches are everywhere in and around Kingman. So are cattle ranches for that matter. Once you get outside of town, practically every small ranchette has at least a couple of horses. We had lots of friends with horses and my kids took riding lessons at one stables. There are two tack shops in town. Kingman is actually on a huge aquifer and there's no shortage of water.
