The CC Retreat is a different subdivision from CC Ranch, and, yes, they are south of us. I know very little about the "Retreat" because, unlike us, they have no web page and apparently no Association, thus no road maintenance, or any other amenities. There are wells in the Retreat area, but I think they belong to a co-op that you have to join and pay for. As for our restrictions, there are very few. Obvious stuff like, no commercialization or dumping, no toxic fumes or waste, no pigs, etc.

I drove out to Chevelon Canyon Ranch last week. It located not that far north of the rim which has a lot of great fishing, hiking, hunting, quading, etc.... The dirt road off the paved road is maintained by the county and you can cover a lot of ground fast. Once I got out there, its pretty flat except for some spots but it was quite and not a lot of people out there.

I've been trying to dump my CCR property for a couple of years. It's totally off the grid. You have to haul water and do solar. Forget about a cell phone cignal! Getting there is ok if you have a 4×4 truck. It's a long, washboard dirt road to get there. It's a place for ppl that REALLY want to get away from it all...but it is peaceful.

I have not been to Chevelon Lake in 20 years but it used to be an awesome Brown Trout producer. There was rarely ever more than a hand full of people there while Woods Canyon would have hundreds. Be prepared to see bears.
