The humidity won't seem too bad your first year. However, June will feel a bit stifling after you get use to the aridity. Overall, I didn't really think it was much of an issue, especially since it is for so little time during the year.

The mosquito question depends on where you are moving from. I grew up in the upper Midwest, so I felt like there were no mosquitoes. To my friends who grew up in Arizona, 10 mosquitoes in an area indicated a mosquito problem. Honestly, if you are moving from anywhere with two seasons (winter and bug), it will seem like nothing.

Non existent. We get gnats and those are annoying. And since I lived across from a small hobby farm, the standard black house flies came in hordes during the summer, but those are just annoying and are easily dealt with. But really, there isn't too much that likes to bite you on a regular basis. It's a reversal: up north we have nothing that will really kill or maim you, but a ton of little biting insects. In Arizona, we have a couple things that really hurt when they bite if you go seeking them out (scorpion, centipede, etc.), but no small bugs that seem to bite you for the fun of it. I also never got a tick while living in Arizona (or any of my kids), although my dog did get one, once.
