Good, now maybe all those in other states will quit worrying about Arizona politics and get back to worrying about their own states.

Agreed. Kind of like all the pro-wolf OpEd being sent to the White Mountain Independent lately.

But now it's over, the bill has been vetoed and life goes on.

I know I said some silly things in this thread, but before it closes, I have one last observation to make.

Funny how Tolerance Way is a one way street, isn't it?

In the final analysis, a bill that was "supposed" to protect the "religious freedom" of business, WASN'T WANTED by business owners. Business groups and business organizations almost universally came out against the bill.
Business owners neither WANTED nor NEEDED this bill. It did nothing for them and threatened to bring them all kinds of grief.

It was a no-brainer by the governor.

I think that is a stretch, business owners didn't want the negative publicity from the circus that was created by the left that could drive business away. Had there not been such a blow up over it I doubt Arizona business owners would have paid much attention.

I received a PM about my last post telling me that it was all about discrimination and then mentioned murder, rape, etc. of which this bill nor thread was ever about.

But got me to thinking that Discrimination Blvd can be a one way street also . . . .

I got a PM also full of hateful comments, also thinking that discrimination is a 1 way street as well.

How ELSE did you THINK the publicity would go?
Did you REALLY think there wouldn't be bad press about it?
REALLY?

Again, the fact remains that business owners never asked for this "protection". It was simply some RWNJ's idea. It certainly didn't originate in the business community.

When a Jan Brewer can recognize the veil of hate behind so-called religious freedom, there is hope yet. All the haters will still hate but the state won't protect bigots when they do. An that is the American way. We are all equal in the eyes of the law and the law is nature's law. So proud to be from Massachusetts where we take freedom seriously.
