The motel in Tombstone is the Larian, not the Lariat.

Sometime you should try some fishing at Alamo Lake. They have some bigg'un crappie, catfish, sunfish, bass, etc...

Any recommendations for where to stay or car camp? I think we have about 5-6 days and a jeep. I am expecting to rent a room in the White Mts. as nights will be freezing by then. Hopefully camping elsewhere. How about around Portal? We love hiking, checking out canyons, fishing, and just enjoying cool scenery and wildlife.

What kind of weather should we expect? Critters? Places to see or avoid?

Help us plan our trip!

I did a similar trip a few years ago in December. Expect it to be cold. I was as far south as Mexico, it was in the low 30s in the morning, got up in to the 60s during the day. Went as far north as Flagstaff. It snowed 30 inches the first day I was there. The temps were in the low 30s for a high. It was amazing though. To go from mild weather in Phoenix to snow in Flagstaff is a shock to the system.

Don't forget the beautiful Sonoita Valley - "where the antelope play" - rolling grasslands and vineyards with mountains as a backdrop. Just gorgeous.
