I thought I'd share that that one HUGE difference I see between the two states is the fact that Nevada would elect a despicable (IMO) senator like Harry Reed. Arizona would never make that mistake. It makes me question the intelligence or ideology of Nevada's residents.

Anyone agree or disagree?

Unions are big in Las Vegas, especially the casino workers. That's mainly the reason how he got reelected.

No it would just reelect and 80YO war hawk and 83YO Sheriff who spends most of his days in court.

As for the intelligence of the average Arizonan, I take it you're not from round these parts. Phoenix is one of the most uneducated major metros in the US, in fact even Tucson is more educated.

Link to prove that. And one that has nothing to do with how much Arizona spends on education.

Tucson Is More Educated Than Phoenix, According to WalletHub Study | The Range: The Tucson Weekly's Daily Dispatch | Tucson Weekly

Although admittedly we do rank better than Vegas. I do love the no links on funding bit, I guess it's best to pretend it's not a problem. Seems to be working for us.

I've always though Phoenix was educated similar to Denver, guess I have my expectations way too high.

Denver is an anomaly. It's large and isolated and has an enormous airport. It's the perfect storm for high end work. Phoenix is too close to LA other problems notwithstanding.

Most of the links put us in the middle of the pack, far from the "most uneducated", no need for the doom and gloom

Our demographics are much more different. The large Native American and Latino population have a negative effect on graduation and college education rates.

???
Denver is 12% African American, 32% Hispanic and 1.6% Native American
Phoenix is 6% African American, 40% Hispanic and 3% Native American

If ranking the 76th most educated metro behind metros with even more diverse demographics is good enough then our work here is done

But let's do the AZ thing. It's the dang minorities. We're the only state that has minorities right?
