What I think Jamies is referring to is the Castle Doctrine, meaning that if anybody invades your property, you have the right to defend yourself including deadly force without being prosecuted if you feel your life is in danger. Arizona and many other states have this law, although Arizona has some of the most lenient gun laws in the nation. A person can legally carry and defend himself here compared to other states which have much stricter gun laws. I really think that if more law abiding citizens exercised their Second Amendment rights more often, there would be less crime.

Teddy, I'm trying to be more PC and not upset people's delicate sensibilities so much.

But Arizona is such a terrible place that the biggest drug bust in our county last week was the DEA hitting the dirty book store with a SWAT team for selling hard drugs - VIAGRA!

But I heard they held a soft reopening the next day.

True story.

So glad I revisited this thread. My friend that visited said it was horribly hot & so I crossed it off my list.

Then another friend moved there & loves it. So, once my bruises heal from the fall I had after our recent snow I'll probably visit.

I've never seen rabid bats & flying scorpions or killer tumbleweeds & really want to see them.

I don't have a gun though & wouldn't know how to use one. Should I buy one anyway before I come?

Absolutely! You need a matching brace of pearl handled six guns with tie down holsters, and silver conchos.

The guns are for shooting the flying rabid scorpions out of the air before they can attack you - and the conchos are to ward off vampire bats!

There is no way to stop the tumbleweeds, they roll up from Mexico and seem to breed like rabbits.

Oh and an M16 is really a necessity if you are planning to travel anywhere within 200 miles of the border. It's a war zone down there you know.

At least you're not dealing with below freezing temperatures and being buried in blankets of snow.

A huge chunk of land in that state is owned by the federal government (including indian reservations, military bases, etc...)

In Arizona, illegals aren't welcome. California is a sanctuary place for illegals and look how much of a dump hole it's in.

Hehe. I like your style and I hope 'I get it'. I would wait until you move here. Then buy the gun. There's plenty of folks you will soon meet to help show you how to use it.

Friend, you need to move out of the CSSR.

I don't live in the CSSR. The state I'm living in (Nevada) has already became the next CSSR due to the transplants and illegals. Most of the natives are conservatives but the state is going blue at an accelerated pace by the second. I want to go from blue to red.
