Taking into consideration Pinetop is not a representation of the quality of life/people living in the rest of AZ, I would take with a grain of sand what you have to say about AZ.
Read all about Pinetop... The job market consists of mostly motels and retail. The largest shopping center in the area for a few hundred miles is Wal-Mart. You will find drug use at a high among adults and teens. Theft and murder/suicide are not unusual.

Thank you for your insightful thoughts and link. Yes if you look you will find drug use here, just like anywhere else in the United States. And yes, we did have a Show Low police officer murdered here last November, Officer Reed.

I only have one question for you, Have you ever lived on the mountain?

I think it's cool they don't too. lol I have followed this thread from post #1 and had many a good laugh. I "got it" from the beginning and looked forward to additional posts. So thanks for the entertainment and, yes, I was kind of surprised that people would take some things so seriously.

Hey, do you pronounce the 'h' in humor with a 'huh' sound? Or do you pronounce it with a 'you' sound? So they end up saying 'yumor' sort of sounding like 'tumor.' I don't know where people get the 'y' in humor? Or where do they get the 'r' in Washington? And it makes it sound like War-shing-ton.

Any of y'all ever notice those things?

Never thought about it but I guess it's more like a "huh" sound. The only people who pronounce things the way you suggest are the ones who say "y'all". LOL

My ex mother in law was from Missouri and she always said that she "warshed and wrenched" her laundry.

You may be right about all of that, AZDesertBrat. I am from Seattle and I grew up to be sarcastic. I love English and actually things that are full of...grammar. So, man, I still remember working at The Boeing Co. in Everett, WA. One of my Supervisors was from Wichita - Boeing - he transferred over to the Seattle area. And guess how he said Washington?

War-shing-ton.
