Naw...it is all the poor people having multiple kids and not being able to provide health insurance to their offspring. That, combined with our bottom of the barrel Education Funding and kids are regularly tortured and made to play sports in 100+ degree weather.

AZ is a terrible place.

And up here on the mountain, it seems as though folks really take an interest in their children, and are very family oriented. I see a much higher sense of 'family' here than where I lived in Washington state.

And here is another reason that Arizona is a terrible place™️:

So what's with John McCain?

Seriously though, I agree with most of the posts in that thread, term limits are WAY overdue!

99 degrees in Fresno today(101 was the predicted #). Strong breeze made it feel cooler, too.
Thats a good sign for our heatwave. I'm hoping not to see 110, its been 5 years since its been that hot. You Phoenicians are welcomed to the great central valley. Much rather have you guys here than the bay area rejects that keep coming.

Yeah but, most of us Arizonans already know that California is a REALLY terrible terrible place. Many of us fled the CSSR for here, I know I did 20+ years ago. And it's only become worse since. Heck, I won't even go to that place unless I REALLY have to.

IF a person were to visit, would it be best to wait until fall? Or would it be best to visit now?

Also, where would a person find out about income based senior housing? I'm thinking the Prescott area probably.

I live on social security & live in a senior building but am so tired of freezing in the winter. Also, I have a Nissan Cube, not 4 wheel drive. Would my car work out there okay?

I do have to add that although I've been looking more at Tennessee, my allergies here this year have been horrible & after researching Tennessee the stats say it is the worst state for allergies. I don't know, Minnesota has rated very high for me this year. I'm tired of waking up with matted eyes, constant nose run & sneezing.

I did have a ton of tests done but am not a candidate for the shots for some reason. It's either live with it or move.

Ah, a Nissan cube. I like that car. I drive a 2011 Kia Soul, so we're both in smallish, boxy cars. I'm looking in to getting a job in Prescott now, and I do think that smallish, boxy cars will do well in the Prescott area. Some of the roads will no doubt be graveled instead of paved, other than that, no problem.

I used the SocialServe website to find the areas of AZ that I wanted to explore.

Thanks to all. How about the best time to visit? I know some folks say to pick the worst time to see how it goes but I feel picking a good time would be best. Say a person came in the fall, fell in love with the place & moved there. By the time summer came a body would be more acclimated to the weather.

Thoughts?
