I'm divorced, have two kids who are adults now. Looking for make a move out of state. I considered Texas such Dallas area such gorgeous homes. But I don't have any family in Texas. What areas in Arizona would you recommend? Looking to buy a home, not rent. Want an area with low crime. A gated neighborhood would be nice if one exists with affordable e homes. 300,000-400,000 range. Any cities north of Phoenix that fit this description that would have cooler temps? I would need to be near higher end shopping, day spa as I'm in the spa and retail industry. Thanks in advance!

Cities north of Phoenix with cooler temps and higher end shopping? I don't think that combo exists, frankly.

Sedona has cooler temps and high end spas but not much of a shopping destination. That's the only idea that comes to mind.

I figured not much north. What about the drive to the closest parts of town that have what I need for work? Any cities you would recommend where the drive wouldnt be so bad? I have a husky so trying to be in a cooler area. Although not sure if that would matter too much to him, he is super spoiled and never wants to be outside. What cities would you recommend if not in cooler area?

North Scottsdale. Not much cooler, but a little, if you can get far enough north to get out of the solid concrete, but not so far north that you blow your budget. Honestly, if your only concern is the dog, there are huskies all over the Phoenix area.

Pretty much it's North Scottsdale or Carefree but only slightly cooler (I guess every bit helps though)

North Scottsdale is your only choice, really. And while its a few degrees cooler than downtown PHX, its still hotter than Satan's butthole.

I don't get why people who want cooler temps, shopping and a Southwest feel don't look at Albuquerque or Santa Fe. It is exactly almost dead set on like the weather we have upstate. ABQ is pretty affordable. But you won't find what you're looking for here
