NickyAndChris, :-)

As far as scorpions, personally I think people have better chances of dodging critters if they live in long-established locations, rather than new construction which might have dislodged wild creatures who were previously living there -- and would still be trying to for a while. In Tucson we lived in a neighborhood settled in the 1920's, and we had the same kind of critters as any urban area would (black widows, little common lizards, common bugs, etc.).

I think you should probably learn something about Africanized bee colonies and what to do if you see signs of them, though. That's all over Arizona, except in the highest elevations where it's too cold for them.

Hello,
After reading your posting, I couldn't help but comment. My family is relocating to Tucson; we have been out to AZ three times visiting and looking for locations. I had too looked online and thought Arizona City in the beginning, one drive down the road and I instantly knew, No! There wasn't much there beyond a dollar store and gas station. Not like the research online made the town out to be. I wish you best of luck on your search.

Me and the wife are thinking about moving back to AZ when we retire, I lived there from 1989-2003. I'd rather live in the high country, but I do not like the price and style of houses my limited money can buy.

Casa Grande seems like good value for money, but only way I will buy there is if I can have a pool. That seems possible for $220K, nowhere else can I find it. Even in dumpy little Morristown.

My biggest fear is crime and gang activity. Had plenty of run ins with that when I lived there. I used to walk my dogs in the park where those 2 women were murdered, I hear they finally caught the bastage.
