Moving to Arizona in July from Chicago and I have two locations in mind and need help trying to figure it out. I am a medical assistant and can probably find a job near my home. What are your thoughts on San Tan Valley or Surprise ? Is there more to do for adults and teenagers on either side? Schools rank about the same, any preferences??? TIA

I’m not a west valley fan by any means, but between there and SanTan there’s only one choice. Surprise. Any reason you want to live so far out to the extremes?? There are affordable options closer in you know.

Surprise is the nicer of the two. I would say a lot more things to do as well.

Neither.....

Do yourself a favor, pay a bit more and live in Scottsdale, Chandler or Gilbert.

you'll have to stretch your budget a bit, but here is an example of one in the far northwest/just north of Arrowhead area, where the prior poster was suggesting..there are a few for sale here, but, if you want 4b/2bath, you have to get closer to 325 or so..
prices have crept up everywhere the last year or 2, so your budget has to as well..

One less bedroom than OP requested and over budget. Plus, that area is not much closer to the action than Surprise. It is still pretty "out there."

its 3 beds and a "den", which many out here call 4 bedrooms..
plus, I live in the area, and there is a TON of stuff within 20 minutes or less, so not sure what you are talking about it being "out there"..
Are you sure you are a realtor out here???

"Out there" from Central Phoenix. Center city is a base starting point for distance. The house you referred is still a distance away from freeway access and is on the far outskirts of the 101 loop. So yeah, it is pretty out there. And by a "TON of stuff to do" you must mean chain restaurants and big box stores.

And it's pretty rude to question my profession just because I happen to disagree with you.
