But that's what attracts many to religion.

Good luck with your search. After being a member of a LCMS church for 35 years, I moved to a new town and visited LCMS churches trying to find one I liked. None were comfortable or very familiar or very friendly. I am not as conservative as many in the church but I adhere to much of the traditional teachings and liturgy. I finally settled on a “high church” congregation that is not right-wing activist but reasonable and somewhat active in the community. It almost out-Catholics the Catholics in liturgy. When my Catholic friends discovered that I was LCMS they acted like I was from Jupiter or Mars because of the conservative reputation. When asked what’s new at church (by a former member who moved away) I reply that there’s nothing new since about 1585. LCMS is not the most conservative Lutheran branch— some are more conservative.

As a retired pastor in the LCMS, and spent the last 3 winters in AZ, I can tell you from personal experience, finding a conservative LCMS church can be a bit of a challenge, and even moreso out west or in the east. In AZ, we found a church in Sierra Vista. Other than that, its slim pickings. Wels is no better. There is a a WELS church there in PHX, that doesn't have communion, ever. This is why I used to advise members, that before they move someplace, check out the church situation in the area.

Regardless of politics, the church of Rome will always be the one true church.

Child abuse is present in any modern institution that involves children. Did you know public schools have several times as much child abuse as any religious institution? The world is a mess, but don't let that distract you from the truth.

...will always be the one true church.

This is how global wars get started. Do not EVER use this phrase.

Believing what your own religion teaches and what history clearly shows will start a global war? Sounds like fearmongering.
Not to mention, Christianity was not the reason for either of the world wars last century.

It’s not your personal beliefs that are dangerous, it’s the arrogance.

I agree, attempting to reform Christianity after thousands of years is extremely arrogant. I think I'll stay with Rome, thanks

I couldn’t care less about what is done with Christianity and you know that’s not the arrogance I was referring to.
