thanks for responding to my questions, you were very helpful with that info about the realtor. Any information on the Post Office there? Or any stores? restaurants? Someone else told me there is not much there...just a small quiet town. Sounds good to me! thanks again.

parkerchick got it right. the town does have a drug problem. I considered moving there 15 years ago and was glad that I moved to havasu instead.

When I asked someone about parker before I moved out here, they described parker as an 'indian party town'. Not very flattering - but very true.

Parker is as the rest of the posters described; small town in the middle of BFE.

I worked there for a while at a small auto repair shop while living in Havasu 3 years ago.

I'm heading to Parker this wk-end. Is there a Wal-Mart there or any other "discount" store?

Default I grew up in Parker

There is no Wal-mart or K-mart or anything like it. There's a sears catalog store and some 99 cent type stores and and outlet store. Most people there go to Havasu to go shopping at Wal-mart. I used to love going the desert races around Jan/Feb and to the river in the summer but since my parents I don't see my self ever going back there. As soon as I got out of high school I moved out and never really would consider moving back. I see people I know who still live there and they spend alot of there time drinking or worse.

If you are still looking for a rental in Parker, check the white sheet online, ADS Online . It is the most used classified in the area. I work in Parker, and I like it. The folks are friendly. There is alot of petty crime, but overall, it's pretty safe.
You might eventually want to buy, there are some good bargains right now. Good luck with the PO transfer, used to be be a carrier myself.

Red face Parker, AZ

My husband and I have planned to move to Parker for a few years now. I have just retired and we are finally making our plans. I love the little town. I grew up in a small town in Ohio and moved to California 25 years ago. My husband spent part of his childhood in Parker and has never forgot it. We have visited there a few times over the past few years and can't seem to get it out of our heads. It is very small, probable 4,000 to 5,000 people, A grocery store or two, a couple gas stations and a couple restaurants, post office and there is a bank and a few motels. The Blue Water Casino and Resort is open and has been for a few years now. It is situated on the North edge of the Colorado River Indian Tribe Reservation and yes, the laws are strict there. Shouldn't be too much crime.

There are no big dept. stores there, but Havasu City is just north about 30-45 minutes and they have everything you could need or want there.

Hope this info helps.
