Parker is getting a Wal-Mart. It is being built across the street from the old Casino/Safeway. I would think they would be close to grand-opening by now.

Bad place to be around. See ParkerCaution.com for what is going on in Parker.

I've been in Quartzsite for the last 2 years and spend alot of time in Parker. Be careful renting or buying a home. Alot of the land is on leased Indian land. there have been some problems in some of the mobile home parks with very high lease rate increases.
Other than that, it's a nice little town, right on the river, most of the shopping you need, nice people. Wal-Mart just opened last week.
I have a nice little park model mobile for sale in Quartzsite if you are interested.

(about 1/2 way between Quartzite/I-10 and Lake Havasu City/I-40) It has a rural feeling and I think there's an Indian Reservation to the south of it along the river where you'll find alot of agriculture. It sits right next to the Colorado River, so if you like boating you'll enjoy that. It didn't seem like there was much to do otherwise and not many stores/restaurants, although we did eat at a GREAT Mexican restaurant when we stopped through there. The town struck me as very clean and rurual, although here in AZ that probably won't last long. You'll have really hot summers there (105-110+) and mild winters. Hope this info helps. Perhaps someone that's more familiar with that area will give you some better insight.
What about the Blue Water Casino, it's large, new and in the water. the pool is three stories.
