I actually hadn't thought of shade - silly now that I think about it - of course having that would keep the water temp more agreeable, understanding that the REALLY hot days, there's not much that can be done. I hadn't considered a misting system - reminds me of Six Flags lol - but that really is an excellent idea.

the sail and large umbrellas are a must out here, for sure..

it gets hot in Texas, no doubt, but the heat in the sun out here is what I call"death heat"

Another California resident here, and I agree with this^^^. I was born here 74 years ago. The term Cali has been around a long time and no one I know gets offended by it. It's mostly the Bay Area folks who get all wigged out over such foolishness, but then they kind of have a lock on foolishness.

NO joke! You aren't kidding. The sun WILL do a number on everything... cars to skin....
