I just heard about this on NPR. It's in the early stages, meaning it's expensive and not quite practical in such small quantities, but I wish him well and hopes this blossoms.

It works in places with high humidity.... Something AZ does not have. The idea is old

The more logical options are covering the canals, desal, and cleaning brackish groundwater subsidies to exchange for rights holders or to have it transported/added to other supplies

It works in deserts too, the US military had them in the Middle East, the efficiency is just lower. The idea is nothing new indeed.

Then it's great, because Phoenix humidity is astronomical compared to what it was a century ago.

Either way, it sounds like you're being a killjoy to shoot down an innovative idea just because it may not work for you, right here, right now.
