Um, to be perfectly honest..the only time I've ever stopped there was on my way to Point Penasco Mexico and that was for a pee break and beer. Very small! Isolated. Rather run down & the hispanic kids surround your car grabbing whatever they can! lol

We are going to Tucson soon, are there any near-by sights to enjoy?

You will want to visit the outdoor Arizona Sonora Desert Museum just west of town. Also south of Tucson you’ll enjoy the San Xavier Church. And the Kitt Peak Nat’l Observatory is west of the city and you can enjoy it in the day time.

You may also want to visit the Tucson thread and post your question there for more information.

We lived in Ajo for a couple of years. We enjoyed our time there but didn't love the long drive to Phoenix to shop or go to the doctor.

Forgot to add, that the summers can be brutal as the temps can get up around 118.

Toyota...

maybe try Yuma? It's not as isolated but still small in comparison to Phoenix. They are doing new constrction in Welton which is about 20 min drive from Yuma but feels far out there? That may be worth checking out?

We read that the border guards and their families moving there have given it new life. Was is a mining town years ago? Maybe it is the next Scottsdale, sigh.
