We currently live in a Pulte home and I like the areas they chose. I checked Pulte homes and I found.. North East Valley - West Black Hill Road Phoenix, AZ 85085. It looks awesome but I see driving could be a headache. Will that area be too far from the main city (downtown)? I assume the office will be close to downtown or to warehousing area. The company sells heavy automotive equipment. My husband currently drives 1 hour to his job and he is hating it..he will take a 30 to 35 minutes drive.

That's not going to be close to downtown. I looked on their website-- everything they are building is in Waddell or Buckeye. Big commute.

I could be wrong but I dont think heavy automotive equipment company would pick downtown Phoenix as their office location. Thats more of West valley or Mesa type of place so I would suggest of finding exactly where they moving and base on that decide your search. Almost every town in greater Phoenix metro area has good and bad parts. If you are looking for brand new home you will have to move to outlines of town which could lead to long commute for your husband.

thanks a lot for your input. It has helped me a lot. I'll start searching and I might take a visit to Phoenix pretty soon.

Well if your company is in Buckeye area, then Goodyear, or Litchfield Park or a development called Verrado (in Buckeye) is going to fit the bill for you nicely. I'm biased, but the best development in Goodyear (and maybe Phoenix) is Estrella. Palm Valley is also nice as is the Canyon Trails development.

I'm not as familiar with Waddell, but it is near Surprise, another booming area with a wide choice in homes.

RE my comments on Tempe. Maybe I think it is old because all my friends who moved there young are now old and they're the ones I associate with Tempe.
