A word of advice- stay away from Kingman! We lived there for 6 months, and it was 6 months too long for me! Housing prices weren't bad, but it has gone up considerably there. It's also got a high rate of drug usage (meth mostly) and the people are not friendly whatsoever. That is probably b/c most of the people living there are new to the area, and plan to leave as soon as they can! The weather there was great, though. Not too hot like the Phoenix area- We topped out at a nice 100 in August. Jobs don't pay there, either. Just my honest opinion on that area! Good luck to you.

Williams IS a beautiful town- not too far from Flagstaff (although the freeway there does close down due to snow on occasion). I disagree with your opinion on housing costs, though- they were pretty close to Flagstaff's prices. I guess some people would think $300,000 for one house might be an excellent bargain, while other's might think that same house should only be $100,000. It's all what you're used to and where you come from. But I agree with hughesgirl- Williams is very pretty and they do get less snow than Flagstaff. A nice clean town- a little touristy (nearest town to Grand Canyon), but at least the locals are friendly.

I disagree with the comment about Kingman-people not being friendly and such. We just got back visiting family there a couple of weeks ago. Everywhere we went (stores, etc...) everyone was VERY FRIENDLY! Actually we currently live in South Carolina-and I would say overall it was a friendlier environment there than it has been here! And the South is supposed to be the "most hospitable".
And by the end of our visit there...it was decided we wanted to move there! Hubby just got offered a job there making just about same wage as currently making here. So on June 1st-Kingman, here we come.
