A lot of yankees and a few Southerners say that Arkansas is in the Midwest. This actually really freaks me out because Arkansas's status as a Southern state is kind of why I decided to go to college here.

I have bummed around all over the USofA and several foreign countries and I have found that people here in the US are all about the same except their various accents and phrases. One time while "up north" as a young man I found that the ladies "loved" my "southern accent". After that I exaggerated my drawl until it became a habit and when I visited back home in AR my family could hardly understand me
. It got me lots of dates though
