You're an attorney? I see you're working/living in Saudi Arabia.
So how did you find KL and Kuching? Penang is like a little KL, except it has a concentrated heritage core which is more walkable than the big brother, with beaches and jungles a stone's throw away.
Yes, I'm an attorney working on a project in Saudi Arabia for 1 year so far and maybe another year here....Saudi is a good place for working but a terrible place for living. I liked both KL & Kuching and I think the food in Malayasia is fantastic (as good or better than anywhere I've been). I have heard really good things about Penang and want to visit when I get the chance.

Penang is Malaysia's food capital, specialized in hawker and street foods, and the reputation has reached far and beyond.
What I like about Penang is its compactness (the island as a whole as well as the capital, George Town), without the intimidating urban sprawl of KL. A heritage house and delicious food are always around the corner. And you're not too far from the urban madness, nature, as well as rural settings should you need them.
the top picture...the woman is obviously of malay phenotype visayan
the baby looks to be african-american/ asian mix ..plenty of moluccans have that look...hence why moluccans shouldnt be considered ethnically south east asian IMO....
