The plane is NOT in Pakistan or India, every airstrip is close to an urban center or a decent sized town. Pakistan has advanced military radar
Their military radar might be advanced but not so sure about the people using them.
They couldn't find the most wanted person in the world living right next door for who knows how many years.
The Royal Australian Air Force has found substantial debris in the Southern Indian Ocean through satellite images that could be related to Malaysia Airlines. They are sending planes to the area to see. I know there has been leads to only to be dismissed. We'll see. SEE: Malaysia Airlines Flight 370: Australia says possible objects in ocean - CNN.com
According to NBC (in the USA), there is bad weather in the area where the satellite images of the potential debris was seen. Therefore so far nothing has been found.

The military is competent and experienced, if they weren't then you can blame the American's at being bad at training them. I already mentioned that even UAV's on the border are tracked and jets are scrambled when this happens.
And give me a break it took America how many years to get even a clue where OSB was? You expect a developing country to do a better job with less resources? I don't know if you realize but the information that led to the courier was provided by the Pak's.

Well, probably there's nothing much of interest the transcript up to the point of "good night", or the world would have heard about it.
I think it's more and more likely that the US govt knows what has happened to the plane and simply won't release the information for some (probably stupid) notion of national security. For example they might not want everyone to know that our satellites and radar at Diego Garcia could easily pick up images of the plane flying .... they don't want out enemies to know our capabilities. Or else there's a terror plot still unfinished, and the US govt doesn't want to show their hand yet.
