To call Filipinos FOOLS... - You might think I'm racist, but I'm actually Filipino. I came to USA when I was 3 [1972], and I mostly grew up an AMERICAN. I love America and LOVED THE COUNTRY AMERICA ONCE WAS... [AMERICA IS ON THE DECLINE, TOO, BUT THAT IS A LONG EXPOSE...]
I already knew Duterte would be another dictator, just like the past Ferdinand Marcos. Now, even Duterte wants to eulogize and give Marcos a hero's burial. Marco's was a severe evil to the Philippines country, as a dictator who killed or tortured opposition.
But anyway, here's the long story short - Duterte got into the Presidency with a "sugar coated poison pill.." _ Just like Obama's sugar coated poison pill, "HOPE & CHANGE..." Duterte promised to kill drug dealers and stamp out corruption - by ruthless killings.
Well, I lived in the Philippines for 1 year [Quezon City]. And I had not run into drug dealers that much, and there was not too much corruption on my everyday living level.
So in short, the Philippines is going to undergo another stupid "French Revolution," with many innocent people being killed in a "Salem Witchhunt" in the name of eliminating a drug dealer.
He is EVIL IN THE DISGUISE OF GOOD. HE IS A WOLF IN SHEEP'S CLOTHING.
Past history of such stupidity in people has been shown in the French Revolution and Salem Witch Hunt, where many innocent people were killed. Duterte can call anyone a drug dealer, then, without a court trial or due process - he can have them killed.
there are seven known thieves in a village and three unknown thieves. Trade is slow and food is scarce. A hard working family has their food stolen from them, with little gold to buy more, their child starves to death. Other villagers get angry. The mayor of the village decides to take action locking up the seven known thieves. The other three continue their rampage. Eventually two of the seven break free escaping prison while the other five are let free due to the fact that no evidence has been brought against them. Everyone knows they are thieves only no one can catch them, by the time the food is missing in the market place they are gone along with the garlic, onions, olives, radishes, and a sack of potatoes. The blacksmith needs to feed his family but the price of food has skyrocketed due to its scarcity as merchants take advantage of the situation selling cabbage at seven gold pieces. People get angry, with no action from the law the thieves get ambitious and steal larger prizes such as chunks of pork and steak. As poverty reaches all homes more families cannot pay their taxes, as the head of the local guards lose funding from the mayor due to a shortage of currency they do not have the resources to hunt down the thieves and sustain them in prison with free food. A new more direct mayor comes into power. He rounds up the seven known thieves having them executed, no more gold has to be put into sustaining the prisons. After the three unkown thieves learn of the recent events they run from the village in fear of their lives. The village government is able to sustain itself and the people are able to feed their children until the carvans and trade open up again. Food and gold are plentiful from this day forth as the thieves never return.

well we hope it goes well back there. with all these killings, those involved should really be shaking by now
I heard, his next target are the tax cheats and the oligarch (1%)
who would not rejoice if he really hits on those? even in America everybody would rejoice if suddenly the 1percenter would be taxed more
Winter's story is only anecdotal. In reality, people may have deceived reputations or images of another person that is totally not the reality! There are also many liars, backstabbers, people who sway blame on the innocent, scapegoating, or misunderstandings of circumstance that may make people have the wrong image / reputation of another person.
As an example, - that guy waiting for the bus on the street corner, scratching his arms... This can be interpreted two ways:
1) He's an innocent guy waiting for the bus and he's all "scratchy" because he has dry skin.
2) He gives the impression of being a drug dealer dealing heroin [which is injected, hence scratching is symbolic of heroin].
People can look at this person and one would say he's innocent while the other would accuse him of being a drug dealer. Hence because of this suspicion, in Duterte's World, he should be killed [when he is actually innocent].

if their is a crime in town, for example a drug dealer is depositing heroine in said town, then all you have to do is round up all possible subjects including the suspicious guy and have the executed, that way you know you got the person. sure, innocents may die but the problem was handled quickly and cost effectively rather than toiling the government into a drug war and having heroine take more victims than it should by ending the supply to those who are or could become addicted. If the town doesn't have a drug problem then there is no reason to suspect said sketchy person of being a drug dealer
Would love to know more about what's going on. Unfortunately we get little news from the Philippines and Eastern Asia as a whole here in Western Europe (most of them are from either China or Japan anyway) so i am all ears. From the little i have read, Duterte's seems justicialism taken to the extreme. Pinoys must be wary of what's happening though because he could be using this justicialism as a weapon to install an authoritarian government. Either way, they must know that this isn't the way to go and being a criminal of any kind doesn't justify someone's death.

Yeah. I'll take you seriously, when you start using the correct word.
