Based on what Jordan has been doing for the past ~10 years, when it comes to conspiracy theories in the region this is not out of bounds as the relationship has soured a bit between the two countries. Jordan has been making and doing multiple negative items related to Israel for decades. This type of discussion would be in the realm of the Politics and Other Controversies forum and not this forum.
Because of this thread, I have now read several articles on the story, and what stands out to me is how poorly worded they are in explaining the relationships between the deceased King Hussein, the current King Abdullah, and Prince Hamzah.
One of the stories was written so poorly it made it seem that Prince Hamzah was older than King Abdullah.
