This makes me wonder is Bachi Bazi common in Pakistan, where there are more Pashtuns than Astan, or nearby countries like Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Xingjiang, Kashmir, and even Iran.
Pederasty was culturally acceptable in classic Greek and Roman times too. So historically this isn’t something that relates to a particular area, religion or political ideology. What’s wrong is right shifts through societies and time.
