Pretty insane to think that anyone would pay $500K to live shoulder to shoulder in a castle identical to other 731 castles in this "magic town", although by design, they were pretty luxurious for the price.
The town looks pretty grotesque to me, though
Here you can see the hundreds of elegant, identical, Gothic-style castles, complete with turrets and balconies and arranged in semicircles against a backdrop of rolling hills and dense green woods - but no living soul in sight.
I saw three other YouTube videos on Burj al Babas. The mini-castles appeared to be poorly built - cement walls, not bricks. Going up/down the stairs and the landing areas, very little sunlight permeates through the few windows. With the houses so close to each others, the architects priority is privacy rather than taking full advantage of the natural light.
At a price tag of 500k euros, it could be a bargain for some.

Well did you know the total cost of this project was $200 million? Yet you state that the houses are too close together, what about the Swiss town of Zermatt with the homes and hotels very close to each other? I am sure it is a highly popular town with tourists. https://www.google.com.au/search?q=Z...&bih=617&dpr=1 Or Aspen Co and it a popular winter retreat for the rich and famous? I see the homes close to each other.

To each his own, I suppose.
Ceiling high glass windows, skylights ... etc.
If you re-read the OP's post again:

meaning everyone is physically close together.
for example, standing/squeezed shoulder to shoulder on the crowded bus.
When I was in Istanbul, I noticed they had a proclivity towards making the same building 3-5 times. I think just about every mosque looked like a mini-replica of the Blue Mosque. This, however, takes the whole building copying thing to another level.
