Modern feminism is indeed a mental illness. Feminism has been taken over by misandrists and extreme fringe social justice types, it's all about hating men and destroying "white patriarchy", not about actual gender equality and improving women's lives.

Yes, it's been that way for at least a few decades now.
I've never lived in South Korea, so can't weigh in on what things are like there, but I did grow up with a lot of Korean immigrants in California and am close friends with a lot of people through school. I found that a pretty extreme number of them had families where the father was sometimes pretty violent against their spouse (and kids). The drag-them-across-the-floor-by-the-hair kind of violent especially when drunk. A few of those families took a good long time and support from their kids (often as adults) to convince their mothers out of that house and relationship and to help support them. So, yea, there does seem to be at least in the past and among those I knew something that's deeply unsettling about the way the older generation of men act. It's kind of funny the people who've chimed in here in support likely without much context. Hopefully this isn't what they support. Or if it is, hope they either reform or at least live alone so they don't have anyone to abuse.

Really interesting that the way they portray relationships in Kdramas is so different from what you have seen (I agree it's probably a big generational gap).

I think the other difference aside from generational gap is potentially that a lot of the Korean immigrants I grew up around came here without much money or education and possibly more working class than average or more so than the kind of people depicted in KDrama. That and they came at a time when South Korea was certainly not nearly as developed or modern as it is now.

At least in western countries.
Of course the red pills brigade came out of the woodwork to echo misogynistic views.

Yea, destroying the "white patriarchy" in, uh, South Korea. Maybe it's best for everyone these people live and die alone.
