Could be a 'real thing' but also: marketing strategy. He "does nothing and gives simple response" - which is what japanese movies are all about, the male characters rarely talk. It's like the Spanish time traveller from 2027, google it - many people suspect it's a marketing for upcoming movie.
I wonder how successful this would be in The West. Of course, in countries like the USA you have to do a criminal depuration before being rented "to do nothing." Don't want to be the receiving end for someone that wants someone to practice his punching skills, someone that "needs" practice on how to molest someone or a murderer seeing what's the quickest and less bloody way to kill someone. What if someone wants to "practice" his kidnapping skill? Or maybe an angry feminist (compared to a normal feminist) who needs to "practice" her dominating men skills or her "making men pay for oppressing women" skills? Ouch...
