so we are here. thanks for all you advice over the years! i feel like i came into this move w/ 2 eyes WIDE open!!! we moved to windermere in cumming.
as promised to our kids, we got a dog from the forsyth county animal shelter a few weeks ago. she is great. she has all her shots and is spayed. the shelter didn't recommend a vet. does anyone have a good one?
also, does anyone know of anyone who will dogsit in their house when we travel? i'd much prefer that to a kennel.
thanks!

the few that we have met do not have pets. i guess we'll have to just keep walking her and hopefully run into some other dog owners!

A friend of the family boards their dog in the Cumming area. They really like the place. Let me try and get in touch and find out the name. I'll post within a couple of days if I find out what it is...

Default For boarding,

you might check out the Canine Ranch.

While you're gone, you can have the staff take your dog swimming in their pool or dock diving, teach her lure coursing or walk her on extensive walks. They have open public days every now and then. Check it out.

Pet Smart Pet Hotel and Day Camp in Johns Creek works well. Use them and the one in Duluth for my dogs.

Just used Camp Bow wow and they were great. They even have a webcam so you can watch your dog if you want.

thanks for the referrals. i'll check them out. i found a couple people who do dog sitting in their homes on craigslist. i'd prefer a home setting but the craigslist thing kind of scares me so i'll be sure to check them out first.

It may be a little out of the way but worth it. Her name is Penny and her she keeps dogs at her home. Her web site is desperatedogsusa dot com. She is a dog whisperer/ therapist also (hence the web name). She watches our dogs and they love going there. You can see lots of pics on her site. If she ends up being too far from you she may be able to recommend someone closer. We were referred to her by our youngest dog's trainer.
