You would receive more informed responses if you indicated a section of metro Atlanta--NE, NW, SE or SW. How far from Atlanta is another question.

The majority of the nicer restaurants will be found in midtown.

Default re:

I hate to say it, but probably Alpharetta/Milton whatever it's called. There are a lot of large corporations with presence there and it's very well established. Downside - it is expensive.

Milton is very pretty with a few good restaurants and lots of family activities. Roswell is also a great place which has been discussed a lot in this forum. Both are in North Fulton and may be on the more expensive side, but sometimes you get what you pay for in the way of schools, parks, shopping, etc.

Really depends on how much you want to spend. Northwest- Marietta/East Cobb, Roswell, Sandy Springs. NE- Suwanee, Alpharetta, Dunwoody. East or West- Dont really know, South- Peachtree City.

Peachtree city is 30 - 40 minutes south of midtown, it has the lowest crime rate of metro Atlanta, it has some of the best schools in the state. and depending on your financial status some really high class restaurants. Plus it has an excellent community
