Well Georgia you got what you wanted. Another republican governor. Apparently 8 years of a useless waste of space wasn't enough to convince you. Let's hope for all our sakes that Deal is an improvement over Perdue.

Does he have a plan to solve the water crisis?

Does he have a plan to bring jobs back to the state?

Does he have a plan to improve failing education districts without destroying the ones that actually are working?

Or is he only going to care about erecting a fence to "keep out the illegals"?

By my count we've got 21 months left before the flow of water from Lake Lanier is shut off.

Hey, as long as the Deal voters have their cars, pay low taxes, live in a nice suburban community, and go to church every Sunday, they don't care if Atlanta ever gets an efficient transit system, or if GA gets high speed rail, or if the unemployment rate goes down, or if Atlanta has water.

It was a tough choice: A man on the verge of declaring personal bankruptcy with some serious ethical issues still to answer to, or a good ol' boy Cobb County lawyer willing to stand in front of his cows and talk down to the rural constituents of this state just to win their vote. Shameful both of them. Just thank god we don't have to endure anymore of those TV commercials.

I am more disappointed in the folks who turned out in droves to elect President Obama but didn't show up to vote yesterday. My conservative co-workers kept insisting that the 2008 election was just a flash-in-the-pan popularity contest. I told them that they were wrong and that there were real concrete issues that the voters had in mind when they turned the lever for President Obama.

Now? Now...I'm gonna eat those words. They may just as well be right. That's okay though. I'm gonna "do me" and live my life in the best way possible. I'll try to help anyone as best as I can...if they ask for it.

Otherwise? Sink or swim, baby, sink or swim. "No complaining if y'all didn't vote" is my new motto.

No surprise here, except that there's no runoff (Thank God). The GA gubernatorial election, as usual, is characterized by an excess of vitriol and a dearth of ideas.
Love this state, hate its' government.

Maybe I'm missing something, but Georgia went for McCain in 2008.
