Bikes are impractical for most of metro-Atlanta. Too much heat. Too many hills. Too many residents who dine out and eat fast food. They are wonderful for universities and other areas where car traffic would lead to overcrowding. But folks who live in those areas can always walk.

I hear Clayton County is looking at transit alternatives so perhaps his ideas would play well there. However it would take much more than Zipcars and bikes to make his ideas a success.

It would take R-O-A-D-S.
What's your obsession with cars and auto dependency? Why do you like driving everywhere and sitting in traffic for half your life?

Just a quick update on Mr. Klein...he was actually wooed by Chicago
Streetsblog Capitol Hill » Gabe Klein, Architect of DC’s Bike Progress, Is Chicago Bound

As mentioned by the article he turned down many state offers...I wonder if GA was one of those states?? But here's hoping that there is more progress in ATL with public transportation and trying to bring in key individuals to revamp it
