Where my hubby and I used to live, there was a great Italian restaurant in a converted victorian home that had such charm and a romantic atmosphere. We really miss that place and I was wondering if there is a similar place someplace around Atlanta.

Anyone know of a place like that?

Not a Victorian home, but Anthony's is located in an old plantation home. It's in Buckhead on Piedmont just south of Peachtree St.

Not a Victorian, but the same idea, is Babette's Cafe in Inman Park:

Canton Street in Roswell has several restaurants located in old homes, with plenty of charm.

I know this is a little late, but thanks all! I appreciate the responses. I had forgotten I posed this question until City-Data sent me an email yesterday saying I had responses.

Anthony's sounds like a winner. Blue Willow sounds good, but a bit too far for us, as we live up in Canton.

If you live in Canton, head to downtown Woodstock- they just redid one of the old houses into an Italian restaurant called Ipps. It's tied to the Ippolitos restaurants somehow.

Not an Italian Restaurant, but in Downtown Woodstock, a charming restaurant called Magnolia Thomas. It is an historic landmark on Arnold Mill Road. They serve southern ecclectic food and have a great Sunday brunch.

This restaurant was burned in a freak fire in 2007 and they rebuilt it. I personally feel it lost some of it's charm when they rebuilt, but it is wonderful nevertheless and as foodies, consider it one of our favorites.

::::: Pasta Da Pulcinella :::::

We love this place. Housed in a Victorian/bungalow type restaurant right in midtown on Crescent Street.

Bob: although the "coming soon" sign is up, it isn't open yet.

We love Magnolia Thomas. It's a great restaurant and a nice atmosphere. Except....because of the fire they gutted and restored the interior with a more open floor plan. So, as you say, it lost some of its charm. If you're looking for a restaurant in a house with an authentic atmosphere then Magnolia Thomas isn't quite it.
