I've been saying this here on this forum for nearly a year.

The most important problem facing North Georgia is WATER.

The average voter didn't get it last fall and probably still doesn't get it. But when the faucet runs dry next summer.....then they'll get it.

498 days to doomsday.

You have to be smoking whatever Charlie Sheen is if you believe the Feds will rule to "shut off" the drinking water supply to half of the Metro Atlanta population.

The only thing we need to be concerned about is getting screwed by Alabama and Florida into paying them millions of dollars in "resitituion" for losing on God only knows what.

Seriously, there is no way we lose drinking water. The Feds are dumb, but not THAT dumb.

well, I do know this, urine is mostly safe to drink, especially if you boil the urea out. I may only need about a gallon of fresh water per month to sustain myself, and I am sure plenty of people would be more than willing to give me their urine, so I'm good, you guys are screwed.

Whether or not the "average voter didn't get it" has nothing to do with the court case. What does the "average voter" have to do with things anyway?

If you're trying to make the case that Roy Barnes would have saved the day, give it a rest. We've been down that road....that's nonsense. For 50 years, Governors and state Legislators have come and gone, most of them Democrats (most recently Barnes for 4 years), and have not addressed the issue. It's a bipartisan problem that has bipartisan roots and requires a bipartisan solution. It's not a political issue.

It is a political issue. It is entirely a political issue. It's politics at the inter-state level: how well governors can negotiate with each other. And so far indications are that they either can't or won't.

Not in the sense that the voters have any say in the matter. It's now in the hands of the courts, and the only other entity that can sway what happens is the US Congress. In that way it's political, but so is everything else in the world.
