I am headed to Atlanta to visit my grandfather in Roswell, and am looking to take the train to North Springs and then transfer to the #185, at around 5pm.

In looking at the schedules, I have a question for regular rush hour riders:

The northbound trains appear to be scheduled to arrive North Springs at the exact time that the #185 bus departs (5:25pm, 5:55pm, etc.) The MARTA trip planner shows this as an impossible connection, and indicates that you have to wait half an hour for the next bus. Do the buses wait for the arriving trains? It would seem crazy not to, but on the other hand if the bus is supposed to leave at the exact time that the train arrives, that wouldn't leave any time to get downstairs and find your bus.

I'd prefer not to get stuck waiting 30 minutes at North Springs, especially if the #185 pulled away just as the train arrived...

Thanks in advance for any help.

I use Marta frequently, and from my experience, they would wait.
They aren't entirely strict on times.

In your case, I believe, there are chances that the Train itself could be late. It might arrive at the station at X:28 or X:59 PM.
If I were in your place, I would take the train that reaches North Spring @ X:10 or X:40 PM.

I hope my answer helps you :-).
