So Is there something secret going in Atlanta that I do not know about? I am a college student who just recently came on summer break and although there are a few festivals held here and there where are the daytime venues in Atlanta/Metro Atlanta?

My friend and I are trying to find something to do today but we are tired of going to the regular Atlantic Station, Lennox Mall(or the infamous Cumberland Mall), Little Five Points, Underground etc..

Not sure exactly what you're into. Creative Loafing might help you find something to do though.

You've discovered one of the most unfortunate secrets of Atlanta. There really isn't crap to do on a weekday in this city besides shop or just "hang out" so to speak. There are a handful of museums that you may be able to hit for cheap if you plan it right but other than that...

I disagree with you! There is always something to do. If you find yourself bored, then maybe it's not the city, but rather yourself.

I am never bored because I always find something to do! When clubs, bars, Six Flags, Aquarium, Coke Museum, White Water gets old move on to Museums (http://www.google.com/search?sourcei...51d7334bd74320) ..... when that becomes old, move on to State Parks (Georgia State Parks - Georgia State Parks & Historic Sites Map) ..... when that becomes old, try different restaurants in the city/metro area (restaurants in atlanta - Google Search) ......... when that becomes old, start gardening/get a pet/have children/go to events you normally wouldn't go to. I basically said all of this because THERE IS ALWAYS SOMETHING TO DO!

Actually, I think this *may* be a maturity issue. If you need a constant external source of entertainment to keep you from being bored then the implication is on YOU. That you're shallow.

Now, hold on. I'm not insulting you. This is completely normal for people as they enter their 20s.

After a bit you're going to start finding stuff to do that you generate from you and your interests: political activist, mountain biking, trail running, kayaking, hiking, camping, gardening, being in a band, playing in the symphony, brewing your own beer, making your own computer games, reading, raising chickens, whatever.

Once you figure out what really interests you enough to spend time and money on you will find Atlanta has resources *in spades* to accommodate you.

I promise.

The external sources of entertainment are nice when you just want to float along, though.

COSIGNED

I don't get kids today. When I was in my 20s I was expanding my mind (which automatically makes everything more interesting) and getting close with individuals of the female variety...and had a blast doing it. Not only that I was almost always broke and usually didn't go to any official events even when they were around. Can't say I regret a bit of it.

My question is what exactly are looking to do OP? I would imagine you do not have a limitless supply of money given you are a college student. Aren't there activities on campus you can take part in, or better, a class you should be in during the day?
