If you're coming from West Peachtree, then I definitely second the nominations above for Bonegarden and Nuevo Laredo. From the Residence Inn, you can be at BoneGarden in less than 10 minutes, and Nuevo Laredo in about 12 minutes. Of course, this depends on the time of day, but the traffic on that route is usually not too bad. I live right down the street from Nuevo Laredo, so I drive that route into Midtown often.

Nuevo Laredo is ALWAYS busy...there is always a wait. Note that they are not open on Sundays, so don't plan to go then. As someone said above, choose kind of an off time to go...there will still be a wait, but the food usually comes out within a couple of minutes of being ordered, so they move people quickly. Nuevo Laredo is more Americanized Mexican, but is still very, very good and not "tex mex".

BoneGarden is closer to authentic Mexican food while still not being fully authentic (as far as I can tell). I'm not really a fan of fully authentic Mexican food, so this is fine for me. We go to BoneGarden frequently. There is usually a crowd here as well, and tables don't move as quickly as NL. But unlike NL, there isn't always a wait. Bonegarden also has a very fun flair to it, with that urban seating style, and skeletons everywhere.

Both are excellent choices, and I think you'll be happy at either. I haven't eaten at many other places in the city except for Los Bravos (I love their fajitas and their salsa).

I have friends in Tucker that are absolutely crazy about this place. I need to go.

What area are you in? Buford Hwy, I like Monterey...little dumpy, but good.

If you're in the Buford, Chamblee area, Los Bravos is great but it has no outdoor seating.

Uncle Julios is TexMex...I wouldn't go there...chain.

Nuevo Laredo is the best in Atlanta imo.
