My family is relocating from New York City to Atlanta in August. I realize I'm a dollar short and a day late in applying for positions. With that being said, I figure a good route to take in securing a position at an indpendent school would be to go through the main agency that places subsitute teachers in independent schools, provided there is such an agency. This is how I got my first job teaching in NYC.

Does anyone know of the/an agency that places subs?

Also, public school is not out of the question. I believe to sub with public schools I have to apply per county?

About me, I'm a male. I have 3 years experience in elementary education and have a masters degree in the same. Also, I lived in Atlanta for 3 years previously and my mother's family has lived there for generations, so I'm quite familiar with the area, but not the schools.

Sorry so long winded, but am REALLY excited about getting back to the land of mint juleps, bbq, and college football.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers,

CJ

Don't have any idea regarding an agency for subs, but you could contact the Atlanta Area Association for Independent Schools (AAAIS):

Atlanta Private Schools

Good luck!
