When I first read about this my heart leapt because it said the victims were from St. Simons and I thought about our own LovinDecatur. It IS someone else, isn't it?
Have they caught these dudes?
Surely this is just a one-off. Decatur is one of our most charming communities and I have always felt very safe there. I don't want anything to happen to change that!

I've been there a number of times, too. Guess I've always just sort of assumed Decatur was immune from this sort of thing.
But as they say, crime has no address. Hopefully it will never happen again.

But quite common for South Dekalb, which is where large parts of Decatur are.

Sorry, but it isn't a secret about Decatur and it's south side. That part of Dekalb is some of the worst crime in the metro and the metro is already very violent.
I suppose one could stay in a bubble of two streets and be in the City of Decatur. But you are still in Dekalb county, a place where the schools are in trouble, the property tax on the rise and the crime very high.
