I don't understand that. Why can't you have an opinion and express it?

The fact that somebody disagrees with you shouldn't stop you from having your own opinions.

Well, tough...get used to it, because all the red-faced florid speeches, and name-calling, and snarky remarks you make, aren't going to silence people who disagree with you...be they OWS protestors, or American citizens who just so happen NOT to embrace a conservative bent...those people are CITIZENS...NOT 'commies' or 'liberals' or 'spoiled rabble', but people who just so happen not to think like you, and aren't some un-American mob bent on overthrow like you want to pump them up to be...

See the first quote above from Capt. Clearly, he is castigating me for expressing my opinion, and suggests that I am infringing on others right to do so. Meanwhile, Capt requests/prefers that I limit/eliminate my own comments as they are "snarky" and "florid". Something about name calling too, though no specifics were provided. Perhaps he takes offense at my saying the OWS-ers are commie/socialist/union thuggery types.?

Anyway, I never said anything about restricting others free speech. It is just there is some speech with which I STRONGLY disagree, and I wont be shy about saying so.

Ahhh, the irony.

So, calling someone a thug is not name calling?

Speaking of regional constructs, how is that famous Midwestern liberalism working out up there? Companies sure seem to be flocking to Chicago and Ohio. Those unions have really been great for Midwestern manufacturing. In addition, Illinois has one of the best balance sheets in the country.

No. I did not call Any One or person a thug. I said unions behave thuggishly.

I admit, calling someone a liberal is indeed a terrible insult, at least it would be if I were called such. Of course many here think conservative or tea partier are pejoratives. I do not, and would wear either label as a badge of honor.

It's America. Each to their own. Be a union socialist thug. Or fight for freedom and individual liberties, as the country's founders did. I know what I choose.

You choose to boil things down into idiotic over-simplifications and cartoonish misrepresentations. Got it.

So on one hand there's "detailed analysis, deep philosophical musings, game changing missives and truly mind blowing relevations," and on the other hand there's boiling down all Americans as either "union socialist thugs" or those who "fight for freedom and individual liberties, as the country's founders did."

If you really can't see that there are light years worth of middle ground in there, you truly are not an intelligent person.

Now, who is name calling?

You must understand the philosophical underpinnings of each position to really get it. You see, there actualy is a "chasm of difference" between the OWS folks and those who oppose them.

Regardless, boohoo. I'm not an intelligent person. JPD has decreed it so.

Those aren't the only two types of people in this country. Get it? And even if they were, neither of those groups could be neatly arranged into the goofy categories you offered.
