I think most of north Atlanta has nice scenery. But there is much I haven't seen yet. Where would you say are the really scenic drives? Even better if there are big mansions along the way. Or river views. For instance, I thought Laurel Springs Pkwy looks good.

If you like mansions I would suggest driving West Paces Ferry from OK cafe to Lenox.

It is a short drive but there are many nice homes and it is tree-coverd making it a nice drive in the fall. Also you pass by the governers mansion.

Huntcliff Trace in the Huntcliff Subdivision of north Sandy Springs has a great view of the Chattahoochee and Morgan Falls Resevoir.

If you want to gawk at houses there's plenty of roads all over the metro area- and a lot are gated- which means no admittance to you!
"Where would you say are the really scenic drives?"
The road from Dahlonega to Suches- Now, That's Scenic!

For sure! We made that glorious drive last weekend and are presently enjoying the magnificence of the southern Appalachians in autumn.

Speaking of which, I'm done with morning coffee and internet gabbing. Come on, dogs, let's get out there and do some hiking!

Highway 28 (the"Highlands Highway") between Walhalla, SC and Highlands, NC (with a little stretch of GA in between) is a really beautiful drive, also.

See?
