Just wondering how crowded it looks. My son is pestering me to leave NOW! I say wait until 11:30. The retailers "new experiment" of opening on Midnight T-day finds me a bit sluggish from too much food, and too late in the evening!!

Are that many people in P-t city really out? That is a pretty wealthy city and past a certain income it just isnt worth your time or inconvenience to save a few hundred dollars to wait outside for hours.

There are people lining up by the dozens in various store locations in the metro area (especially at Best Buy stores).

Two words - "Not me".

Honestly, in the Smyrna area at least the crowds have been pretty timid. I went by the mall earlier and it was somewhat dead and so was walmart. Best Buy had a crowd though.

Actually it was surprisingly crowded at 11pm. Everything was orderly. Seemed like many were there for the TV's. Saw a bunch of neighbors, met some new folks in line. Some friends expressed they were there just for the experience/fun of it!

Unfortunately and expectedly, most of the sale items on Black Friday/Thrusday are pretty much cheap crap that is manufactured specifically for this time of year to be priced at these prices.

And most of these electronic "deals" are for lower end large screened no name televisions. The only decent one I saw on tv was the Sharp deal at Best Buy.

I just don't understand the appeal of waiting in line and fighting others to SPEND MONEY on mostly so-so products! Maybe that's just me.

Sorry to be a grinch
