Me again asking for advice on East Cobb.

I suspect we won't have much luck finding an opening for my 4 yr. old starting in Feb. but I have to start somewhere, so looking for feedback on pre-schools.

She has been in Montessori for the past 1 1/2 yrs. so I think that would be the easiest transition for her to make. I know most Montessori schools want the kids to stay for K, which we will NOT be doing, but I figure if they have a spot for her in primary they would rather fill it at least for the rest of this year.

If not Montessori any good church based pre-schools? I would prefer something with more of a play-based focus than academics. She is ready for K academically now and ideally I wouldn't want her spending a week on each letter sound. But at a minimum I think she could use some time with other kids so I know I can't be too picky at this point.

Thanks for any feedback!

Okay so here I am answering again! Don't get sick of my replies! You will find most East Cobb preschools are academically based. The only one I can think of that might suit your needs is High Meadows. It's a nature based program with more emphasis on socialization than academics or at least the academics are more woven into the curriculum. It would be very close to Chestnut Ridge or anything in the Pope area. Its just over the line into Fulton County (Roswell). It is pricier than the church based programs. Some academically based church programs around should you go the other route are St Anns, Mt Zion and St Catharines. I think though for mid year I'd start seeing where you can get a spot anywhere now. Another big good preschool recently and abruptly closed mid year sending parents scurrying all over scooping up available slots at all the other good schools. Best of luck!

Try Eastminster Christian. It's a great faith based program in a friendly and beautiful church (Presbyterian). My kids love it! I am also the pastor there!
