Adding to the metro's free fall in housing prices, office space delinquincies, and contracting incomes, Atlanta gained 600 jobs in March.

Hmmm...when did GAINING jobs stoke fears of a "recession"???

Seems like we should be worried if Atlanta LOST jobs since last month.

And from the report DunwoodyPanhandle linked to, Atlanta has "gained" almost 30,000 jobs over the past year. There are a number of metros that would be jumping for joy over than many new jobs - like, ahem, Charlotte...

That would be a pretty unrealistic numerical gain for a metro of Charlotte's size and economical composition. Looking at it on a percentage basis, the total of nonfarm jobs gained in Atlanta and Charlotte from 3/2011 to 3/2012 was comparable: 1.2% and 1.0%, respectively. And similarly, both significantly lag their Texas counterparts (Houston/DFW and Austin) when it comes to private-sector job growth.
