So this Black Friday will be my first one that I spend shopping in Atlanta instead of NY. Do you guys have any recommendations as to where the best places to shop are? Some co-workers of mine mentioned Lenox Mall and some other one but are there any others that are worth checking out? I'm looking for clothing, jewelry, shoes, and electronics.

Are there any other Black Friday things that some local businesses put on that are also worth considering? Such as local restaurants or something along those lines?

Black Friday shopping is a gimmick. However, I live very close to a Macy's and I am typically up early regardless.

I like to run over there first thing in the morning - no later than 7am to pickup a varitey of misc items for myself (perhaps a few gifts) and take advantage of their early bird specials

Other than that, I am a huge fan of Small Business Saturday where I will visit my favorite local shops and boutiques

If you're smart, online. Deals just as good if not better and without the madness of being trampled trying to get to the 2 advertised half of tv's in the whole store.

I don't buy clothes and stuff like that online because you can't try them on physically. Same sort of deal for computers and stuff like that honestly. I do like the hustle and bustle of the Black Friday madness, so that's why I'm curious as to where Atlanta residents go out Black Friday shopping.

This.

There's a great iPhone app called "BlackFriday" that will help you consolidate all your sales information. Personally, I buy the big stuff online, if I need a winter coat or dress shoes then I'll join in on the Black Friday madness.

I'd much prefer enjoying Thanksgiving part 2 all morning to be quite frank.

Unfortunately I'll be spending the holiday alone this year, so I'm making up for it by blowing money on Black Friday.

I used to go black Friday shopping every year with my best friend. We got caught up in the "mob mentality" of buying anything so long as it was cheap and it became a war to try to get the item that everybody else wanted.

This was dumb because we'd always end up with a bunch of garbage we didn't need. I started taking everything back the next week.

Anyway, I read that Mall of Georgia and Sugarloaf Mills (formerly Discover Mills) are going to be open starting at 12am on Friday until 10pm Friday, getting close to my 24 hour land wish! What I don't know is which stores in the malls will be open, I can't imagine that they will all decide to stay open all night starting at midnight until 10pm the next day. The malls themselves, though, will be open. I'm sure some stores will open the entire time, but you mgiht want to research which ones before going.

If you like electronics, one of the better best is usually Fry's. It's one of the only stores that actually has enough registers available to handle black Friday crowds. Brandsmart also has enough registers, but the procurement system there is so dumb that for big purchases you have to wait in line to pay and then you have to go wait in line again for your actual item to come down the conveyor belt.

I would never tell anybody not to engage in the hustle and bustle of Black Friday because if you like crowds and excitment, it's a real adrenaline rush. In recent years, though, it has seemed that the deals have gotten even better in early to mid December, unless you count doorbusters, which only the most savvy (read: insane) black Friday shoppers generally get ahold of.

I prefer Perimeter Mall since there are alot of stores around the area that you can also go to.

I'd rather be bleeding in a gutter with a gunshot wound while a bum urinates on me than go to a mall on Friday.

So, I'll go with the online option.
