Unfortunately, I think a lot of Atlanta's history is suppressed unless it is about Civil Rights. Lots of history but the topics can be sensitive.

I've heard that Houston has a great restaurant scene although I don't know how the two cities compare.

The Atlanta History Center is fantastic; I don't know why more people don't go there. All the suburban cities -- most of which predate Atlanta -- have their own historic home museums, history centers and the like. Stone Mountain, Kennesaw Mountain Battlefield National Park, the indian mounds up in NW Georgia, Roswell, Marietta, Newnan, Jonesboro, Decatur -- how much more history can there be?

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I guess if we all could post pictures to prove what we are saying it would of been nice. I did notice that the northern part of Houston in the cypress and woodlands area had just as many trees as in atl metro and it also gets hilly as you go north on 45. I must admit the woodlands is a better development than any i have seen in the whole state of georgia. However both cities have something special about them.

So they tried to create the 'perfect' suburb? Pfftt. I laughed when they said history and culture in that video. Sorry, but I don't want to live in a disnified community...give me gritty urbanity with true walkability, not some village bs.
