If all these new tech jobs are real there should be some rising wages around here. I'm very curious to see how the job boards look over the next few years.

What a win for the ATL! A lot of these tech people are loaded and that bodes well for our economy.

Wow...ANOTHER big announcement for Atlanta. 2013 has treated us very well with regard to major economic development announcements. We've had four major ones so far:

- GM Innovation Center (Roswell, probably ~500 jobs near term)
- Pinewood Studios (Fayetteville, jobs undefined, but certainly considerable)
- Athenahealth expansion (Midtown, probably net 300 jobs near term into the metro)
- infosys (Cumberland, 500 jobs)

None of these are home runs like Caterpillar or Baxter, let alone a grand slam like KIA, but I'd say they're all doubles or triples. Better yet, these are all within 25 miles of Atlanta's core, rather than way out in the exurbs.

On the flip side is the hundreds of jobs lost in Marietta by Lockheed Martin.
