I laughed that you provided a study from Georgia State. Being fiscally conservative is logically.

Ga. State study: Welfare programs discourage work, marriage - Atlanta Business Chronicle
bull s h i t.

More tired crap playing off decades long narratives about "those people"

MOST people want to work. MOST people try very hard to find a job when they lose one. MOST people HATE being on such a program, but view it as necessary for a time. It's absurd to base serious policy decisions on bumper stickers about welfare queens. People need to grow up.

We don't need a race to the bottom.

To me that's just common sense, especially when you're talking about taking money from one group of folks and giving it to another.
That's exactly what conservatives have been doing for 30 years.

Race to the bottom? Dude, that state is on fire (in a good way). I don't particualrly care for it, but they are doing some things right over there.

Race to the bottom? Texas is an economic powerhouse. Just because you may dislike Rick Perry, don't think that Texas isn't growing good jobs by leaps and bounds.

Hang on... are we talking about unemployment or welfare here? Unemployment isn't welfare, and neither is disability... those are insurance programs.

Somewhat. It's also becoming a game of how little employers can pay their employees and get away with it.

The employment system is rigged to be a seller's market, and the people at the top of the chain usually take advantage of this.

You mean the state with the greatest percentage of uninsured in the nation? No thanks, I don't want to be a model of a state trying to become a third-world country.

Employers have to do something special to get away with paying their employees
